Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

What Is the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Your Pathway to Canadian Permanent
Residency Through CEC

If you’ve already gained skilled work experience in Canada, the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) offers a fast and effective route to permanent residency. This program is designed to help foreign workers who have contributed to Canada's economy and culture, transition from temporary to permanent residency. If you’re currently in Canada or have recently completed work in Canada, this could be the perfect option for you.

At HopeBridge Immigration, we specialize in helping individuals navigate the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and achieve their dream of becoming Canadian permanent residents. Whether you're from India, China, Philippines, or any other part of the world, our experienced team will provide personalized guidance throughout the application process.

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is one of the Express Entry programs that allows individuals with Canadian work experience to apply for permanent residency. It’s part of Canada’s effort to retain skilled workers who have already contributed to the Canadian economy. To qualify for the CEC, candidates must meet certain requirements, including work experience in a skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, or B). This program is a great option for temporary foreign workers who have gained professional experience in Canada and wish to make it their permanent home.

Eligibility

Who Is Eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

To qualify for the Canadian Experience Class, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Work Experience
  1. Minimum of 12 months of full-time skilled work experience in Canada in the past 3 years.
  2. The work experience must be in a skilled occupation (National Occupational Classification – NOC 0, A, or B).
2. Language Proficiency

You must prove your proficiency in either English or French. Language test scores should meet the minimum threshold for the program.

  1. CLB Level 7 for NOC 0 or A jobs
  2. CLB Level 5 for NOC B jobs.
3. Plan to Live Outside Quebec

The CEC is a federal program, meaning it is not applicable to applicants intending to live in Quebec. If you’re planning to live in Quebec, you’ll need to apply through the Quebec Experience Program.

4. Work in Canada

Applicants must have worked in Canada under a valid work permit. Self-employment or experience gained while studying will not count toward this requirement.

Eligibility

Who Is Eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is part of the Express Entry system, which is designed to fast-track the immigration process. Here’s how it works:

Create an Express Entry Profile

You must create an Express Entry profile and provide information about your education, work experience, language skills, and other personal details.

Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA)

Candidates are ranked in the Express Entry pool using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). If your score is high enough, you’ll receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.

Submit Your Application for PR

Once you receive an ITA, you have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency. This includes all the required documents such as proof of work experience, language test results, and medical exams.

Wait for Your PR Decision

After submitting your application, IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) will process your application and notify you of their decision.

Receive Your Canadian PR

If your application is approved, you’ll receive your Canadian permanent residency and can begin your new life in Canada.
